  • Hmm, my last name is a Wiki-word, due to the embedded cap. Well, guess this is a good a place as any to put a little bit about me

Jay McCauley is a semi-retired former software engineering director who lives in San Jose, CA (Silicon Valley). Among his interests are industrial heritage/industrial archeology. He's a founding member of the Samuel Knight Chapter of the Society for Industrial Archeology http://www.sia-web.org/Chapters/knight/knight.html He's also on the Board of Directors of the National SIA, and has participated in several of the conferences and study tours, the most recent being a trip to Bologna, Italy, to be featured in the next SIA Newsletter and on the SIA web site when sufficent moments are free...

Jay's also on the Board of Directors for the Knight Foundry Corporation, http://www.knightfoundry.org which is dedicated to saving the last remaining water powered foundry and machine shop in the US.

Jay has dragged his wife, Sharon, and daughter, Erin, to IH/IA sites all over the world, infecting them both with the bug. Erin toured Italy in the winter of 2004, often looking at ancient waterworks (aqueducts, etc.) reflecting her current job as the Manager of Design for California Water Services.
